Biography

Passionate About Labor Law, Dedicated to Helping Injured Workers

Associate Attorney

From working the family horse farm to servicing automobiles at his father's tire shop, Austin Enger developed respect and admiration for labor at a young age. While attending Cleveland State University, Austin started as a business major, but his roots quickly drew him to courses in labor relations, collective bargaining, and human relations. “Working for my father at the tire shop and then coming home every day to our horse farm, which was a full-time job in and of itself, it all really inspired me to go into a field where I could help workers,” said Austin, reflecting on his trajectory from his youth to his career at NRS Injury Law.

A Passion for Helping Workers, Realized in a Profession in Workers' Comp Law

Austin graduated cum laude from Cleveland State University in 2017. While in college, Austin realized the best way he could build on the strong foundation his upbringing had given him would be to pursue a career in labor law. So, from Cleveland State, he went on to the University of Akron School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctorate in 2020. After receiving his Certificate in Health Law, Austin wasted no time leveraging his passion for labor to help workers who had been injured while on the job. In fact, while he was still in his graduate program, Austin got a head start on his career in law by clerking part-time at NRS Injury Law from 2018 to 2020. When he passed the bar in 2020, the firm offered him a position as Associate Attorney, and Austin immediately came aboard.

Relentless Advocacy Leads to Results for Clients

Austin thrives on discovering the details and specifics of his client's unique situation and then building a case from there. “The legal system so often tries to lump labor law and workers’ comp cases into one-size-fits-all categories,” says Austin. “My mission as a workers’ comp attorney is to overcome that. My clients’ stories matter. Their goals matter. Their injuries matter. Their love for their job’s matters. I feel like I am doing my best by them when I am able to listen, learn, understand their situation, and then tirelessly advocate for them until we get the result they want.”

A Personal Mission Aligned with the NRS Injury Law Vision

Austin's mission is to find unique and effective ways to represent his clients. Known for asking questions and showing true interest in his clients, Austin's first question is always, “What are your goals for this case?” Austin fits right in at NRS Injury Law because his attitude, approach, work ethic, and passion for helping clients align perfectly with the firm's vision of “An elite team zealously advocating for justice for every client by practicing the art of constant compassion, striving for excellence, and acting with integrity, patience, and professionalism.”

Work/Life Balance

Austin is dedicated to his career, but he also takes time to participate in many of the firm's community outreach programs, including volunteering at the Greater Cleveland Foodbank and  Miracle League of Lake County, the region's adaptive baseball league for children and adults with special needs.
