David E. Nager, Founding Partner of NRS Injury Law, has been in private practice since 1990. His primary areas of practice include workers’ compensation, personal injury and medical malpractice. He has successfully argued thousands of cases before every level of the Industrial Commission of Ohio, and has handled hundreds of cases before various courts throughout Ohio. He has successfully argued cases on the State Appellate level, and he’s obtained compensation for thousands of injury victims totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
In 2011, David Nager was appointed to the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Nominating Committee for a three year term. This statewide committee determines who will be nominated for appointment to the BWC Executive Board, which oversees the finances of the BWC for the state of Ohio. This prestigious honor demonstrates Mr. Nager’s statewide recognition as a leader, on behalf of claimants, in the area of workers’ compensation.
In addition, the Ohio Association for Justice named David as the Outstanding Service Award recipient at its statewide convention held in May 2011. This award was presented in recognition of his efforts to positively effect change in the BWC system by meeting with its leadership to identify shortcomings in the system and recommend changes that benefit injured workers in Ohio.
Dave, his wife, Ellen and their four children reside in Mayfield Village, Ohio.
Sam, a partner with NRS Injury Law, has been practicing law in the Columbus area since 2013. He has focused his practice on helping injured workers navigate through the complexities of Ohio’s workers’ compensation system. He focuses his practice on the management of the firm’s Columbus Office. Over the years, he has distinguished himself by his commitment to his practice, his clients, and his community. Sam has been named by Best Lawyers in its list of Ones to Watch in Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Employment Law. He has also been included in the Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars for workers’ compensation. Sam has served as the Workers’ Compensation Section Chair for both the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ) and the Columbus Bar Association (CBA).
Sam is a graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law and the University of Kentucky. He lives in Bexley with his wife and daughter. Sam serves on the Board of Directors’ of Wexner Heritage Village, as well as Klarity Medical Products. He is also very active in his local community and was elected to Bexley City Council in 2021.
Jerry Horning, a senior associate attorney with NRS Injury Law, has represented thousands of injured clients since 1984. He has attained the highest Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating, AV Preeminent. His civil trial practice experience includes a wide range of personal injury litigation, including wrongful death, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, insurance coverage, uninsured motorist, product liability, premises liability and auto accidents of all types.
Jerry has litigated small business and real estate matters, including mortgage foreclosures. Further, Jerry has extensive workers’ compensation litigation experience. He has resolved thousands of personal injury cases by settlement, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and trial and he’s argued cases in several appellate courts, the Ohio Court of Claims, and the Supreme Court of Ohio. His Supreme Court oral argument on behalf of an injured police officer can be viewed on the court’s website, Oral Argument Archive, Case No. 2005-1828. The case is Ronald Rose v. City of Garfield Hts. et. al., 2005-Ohio-4165, 2006-Ohio-5698.
Prior to law school, Jerry served as the assistant director of Cleveland’s Department of Public Health and Welfare, where he supervised programs in primary health care, environmental health, air pollution control and prison administration for a department with over 500 employees.
Jerry resides in Bay Village with his family.
Brad Howenstein, a senior attorney with NRS Injury Law, has specialized in workers’ compensation and labor employment law for over 25 years.
Brad has a diverse background representing not only injured workers, but also the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the Industrial Commission of Ohio and employers in administrative hearings and litigation throughout Ohio. This experience has given Brad a unique perspective in evaluating claims. He has argued over two dozen Workers’ Compensation cases before the Ohio Supreme Court and has prevailed in 20 workers’ compensation jury trials. Brad is AVVO rated 8.7/10 (i.e., excellent).
Christina A. Strubbe is an associate attorney with NRS Injury Law and focuses her practice on personal injury. Prior to joining NR&S, Christina worked for nearly a decade as a personal injury paralegal where she developed a passion for assisting individuals harmed by the negligence of others.
Christina possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Diversity from Cleveland State University (2013) and a Juris Doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (2019). Some of her accomplishments include graduating Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland State University (2013) and volunteer experience aiding limited means individuals through the Cleveland-Marshall Civil Litigation Clinic. As a member of the Civil Litigation Clinic, she gained experience representing individuals seeking remedy from landlord tenant disputes and those in need of civil stalking protection orders.
Christina, an Ashtabula County native, currently resides in Willoughby. She is an animal lover who enjoys traveling, hiking and spending her free time with family and friends.
